God's Peace
I always thought I knew what it was to be a Christian.  I grew up
with faith.  I went to a Christian school so I had a fair knowledge
of God, but my faith was superficial.

When my grandma was dying in a nursing home, I began to
really understand.  My grandma had a very strong faith.  As we
talked with her and prayed for her and with her, I learned what it
was to have confidence-to know for sure that my grandma was
going to meet up with Jesus in heaven.  It gave us such an
amazing peace and joy to be assured that we would see her
again-healthy and vibrant when we meet her there.

Salvation is not something to be earned.  I make no claims to
be holy and neither did my grandma.  In Romans 3:23 it says
that "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Nothing we could ever do could make us right with God.  We
are doomed because of our sin if we trust in ourselves, but God
loves us so much-each of us, that He gave His only Son to
save us.  Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The gift of salvation is given to us by God.  If we turn from our
sins and believe in Him, we will be saved.  Romans 10:9 "If you
confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
God wants all to be saved and live with Him in heaven for
eternity.  He won't force anyone to believe, though.  True
peace, God's peace, comes when we give Christ our burdens
and let Him rule our lives.

we'll get back to you as soon as we can.  Thank you and may
you have God's peace rule in your life.
